  • Margot Backus, Associate Professor of English at the University of Houston, has been selected as the 16th IACI Visiting Fellow in Irish Studies at National University Ireland - Galway.  The Fellowship includes a stipend of over $15,000, transatlantic transportation, office accommodations, and visiting faculty status at NUI-Galway. Dr. Backus will be conducting research for her work:  Irish Scandal Culture and the Coming-of-Age Narrative. Applications for 17th fellowship will be accepted until December 31, 2007.
     

  • Aoife Collins is the IACI 's 2007-2008 Location One Artist-in-Residence.  She will work in New York City until August 2008.  Read more
     

  • Kathy Prendergast was presented with the IACI's O'Malley Art Award at a luncheon in Dublin in June.  Ms. Prendergast was educated at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin and at the Royal College of Art in London.  She is well known for her City Drawings works.
     

  • The IACI had a very successful golf outing this year in support of the Irish Way Program.  Thanks to all involved - You helped make this year's outing a great success!!  
     

  • The IACI closed the NASDAQ stock exchange in celebration of Saint Patrick's Day.
