Irish American Cultural Institute's O'Malley Art Collection
Collection on loan at the University of Limerick

Limerick, Ireland - The IACI and the University of Limerick unveiled the Irish American Cultural Institute O'Malley Art Gallery at Plassey House on the campus of the University with a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception on Thursday, April 22, 2004.

In 1981, the late Helen Hooker O'Malley Roelofs donated a significant portion of her extensive art collection to the Irish American Cultural Institute.  At her request the collection, and subsequent annual art award, were named in honor of her late former husband Ernie O'Malley.

The Irish portion of the collection, numbering 75 total items, includes works by Paul Henry, Louis Le Brachy, Patrick Hennessey, Anne Yeats, Jack B. Yeats, and other notable artists.  The Irish portion of the collection is currently on public display at the University of Limerick.
