Counselor Position

The position of Irish Way Counselor is responsible for supporting the Irish Way program Director, Irish Way Coordinator, and teaching staff.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:


Graduated from college by the summer the candidate wishes to be a counselor,
Irish Way alumnus, or has spent extensive time in Ireland,
Academic course work in Irish Studies,
Continuing involvement in Irish culture in the US,
Relevant experience with teenagers,
Expertise in an area that would compliment the Irish Way program. Expertise areas could include but are not limited to creative writing, sports/outdoor activities, Irish dancing, art/architecture, and drama,
Successful track record in recruiting for the Irish Way program - please contact the Irish Way team to find out how to begin your recruiting campaign.
Specific job responsibilities include:
Accompanying students on transatlantic travel, both to and from Ireland,
Living in dorms with students and interacting with them on a daily basis,
Enforcing conduct rules,
Taking class attendance, working in the office, and assisting staff,
Organizing and/or supervising extracurricular activities,
Accompanying students on field trips and tours.
